this past two months has been the best i've had in ages, but it definitely feels good to be back.

apart from the first day, where i conked out and missed a birthday dinner (sorry!). surprisingly, i've been living a more normal lifestyle. waking up at 1030 for breakfast at longhouse - think prawn mee, chicken rice, oyster omelette, cuttlefish, yu sheng. breakfast basically shouted "welcome back to singapore!". followed by this morning where i woke up thinking it was past 12, when it was only 0740, and the sleep hormones were gone.

makes me especially happy too, when i see sunshine getting more active. like how i woke up to find her sitting on my legs at 6am, or how she jumped out of the cage to play & vaguely played catching with me this morning. i guess she's a morning rabbit.

apart from that, the weather is giving me a headache, and i'm so glad i skipped town when the heat was worse!

Poland's really beautiful so far. I guess things tend to suprise you the most when you hold no expectations. It's all quite surreal, I feel like i've stepped into a fairytale, with horse drawn carriages, beautiful towers, candlelit restaurants and a bustling market square.

The day holds much excitement because we'll be visiting a small castle, followed by shopping. And the evening will be the highlight, because we've made a reservation at a michelin guide recommended restaurant! Plus, the prices are pretty decent compared to Italy & France.

It's time to start the day!

Just got back from Italy the day before & i'm leaving for poland in a few hours! Poland's going to be cold, oh my dear fingers & toes. Followed by Barcelona & Spain, so once again i'll be apart from my dear internet.

Italy was really amazing.

Oh gosh, i miss sunshine so much.

Several happy things happened today.

1. I visited the weekly fair this morning, and we returned with delicious ribs for lunch, and flowers for the aging sister.

2. Made last minute arrangements to travel to rome on my birthday!

3. Had a sudden craving for ice cream, and so I ran (thanks to eager prompting that the mart was about to close) to the supermarket to buy a box of eight ice cream cones for only 0.99 euros! Absolutely yummy. The fact that i ran for it, increases the satisfaction.

4. I convinced ZM to play Hotel 626, cos i wanted to know what's the game about without scaring myself to death.

5. There's a tiny possibility we'll be having macaroons for dessert tmr!

5. ZM cooked princess pasta for dinner, and it was an absolute joy identifying the fairy tale shapes among my food.

prince, princess, magic wand, glass slipper, horse, tiara and castle!

Lastly, i am finally feeling sleepy and heading to bed!

The clock says its time for bed, the body's tired, but the mind's too filled with thoughts to rest.

I constantly feel like i've got an endless list of tasks to complete when in fact there's none. Or rather, mostly stuff that are way overdue but i procrastinate. What's ridiculous is that i am constantly searching for things to do, when i've got a hardrive full of unwatched movies, dramas and unplayed games.

Each night this charade plays itself out till the body waves the white flag. Its a constant battle between the mind and the body, its crazy.

Just got back from paris. I now have train phobia! I absolutely detest long train rides, especially when they're back to back.

Paris and Bayeux was great, especially the lovely bed & breakfast. I'm such a lazy traveller, if it wasn't for my sis and zhiming i think i'd be spending my time at cafes, walking aimlessly and lounging at the parks - which i did for 2 hours as i grew quite bored of museums. But all the effort put into planning the itinerary and side trips definitely made it a much more fulfilling trip. Kudos to the two! Plus, we had an amazing guide.

Traveling sure is tiring, but, the memories are sure to bring a smile to my face.

I'll be leaving for amsterdam in about 22 hours.. but i don't quite feel the excitement.

Luggage packing is giving me a headache - i don't even know what i'm going to wear tomorrow, imagine planning what to wear for the next 2 months?

I think my sister will nag at me when she sees how much i'm bringing. I'm also quite bummed that i'm not bringing a dslr with me :(

I'm definitely going to miss this greedy monster who loves to ignore me, but pesters me when i'm busy (like jumping all over my clothes when i was packing). the key to her heart is cranberry biscuits.

As for the headless dracula, you can save up during these two months, and when i'm back, we'll head to all the ice cream and dessert shops :)

I don't care anymore about the handsome wealthy boys who come gingerly into the living room to take out the girl they thought would look nice in an evening cocktail dress, i said i wanted to go out with them to meet new people. I ask you, what logic is there in that? What guy you would like, would see the depths in a girl outwardly like all the other physical american queenies? So why go places with guys you can't talk to? You'll never meet a soul that way - not the sort you want to meet. better to stay in your garret reading than to go from one party to another. Face it, kid: unless you can be yourself, you won't stay with anyone for long. You've got to be able to talk. That's tough. But spend your nights learning, so you'll have something to say. Something the attractive intelligent man will want to listen to.

Glue seems to play a big role this week - acrylic glue, epoxy glue, glue gun, uhu glue.

The glue gun is my biggest enemy. I seem to have a knack at gluing/burning my own fingers instead of the object. I'm not too fond of sandpaper either because i tend to sand off my own nails and skin. Apart from that, model making was rather fun. There was an endless supply of food (ben & jerrys!) and a drinks buffet (coke, iced lemon tea, milo, grass jelly, chrysanthemum tea, orange juice)! Definitely better than bumming through my whole week.

On a side note, my mum made tiramisu for her gathering. It was delish, but terribly bad because I can't stop at one.

spent the afternoon playing bananagrams and devouring ashtons with mel, followed by a movie and bowling with edwin, cecilia, guanji & vincent.

happy day i must say.

and tomorrow's back to bumming around with dvds, snacks and mel.

how can communication ever exist when simple polite requests gets pushed away by names and negativity.
perhaps repetition is a chore.
but it makes me want to toss away the thought of compromise and communication.
why do some have to be literally told before they notice any effort.

I'm back from bangkok and spending my days watching one drama after another. Just finished watching Antique Bakery which made me so hungry just looking at all those desserts! I'm craving for some macarons right now... must make a note to try the pastries at Ladurée when i visit paris!

why do people want cake in their happiest moments?

three things left me in a good mood today : 1. the $18.50 loaf of bread that tastes like thick fluffy french toast & reminds me of the bread comics. (though i'm getting sad cos there's only 2 slices left) 2. finally found the magazine i've been searching for. i'm going to savour each page so it last at least a week! 3. sunshine's in a good mood again! she's doing her crazy jumps, running circles round my dad, and playing a made-up game of newspaper catching.

with the release of the final semester's results, i'm officially done with poly!

when everyone all said "don't be silly, it's not as easy as you think", i stayed stubborn and suffered. i grew in some ways, neglected others. but despite the setbacks, i'm so glad things turned out well!

i am ever so tempted to study overseas, but it's probably the need for adventure & travel that's spurring this thought. afterall, if i can obtain the same degree locally, is it worth the money to go overseas?

Ahhhh i hope the trip to bangkok and europe will help me make a better decision.

after much procrastinating, i've finally gotten round to uploading photos of cny. YEAH cny. its long overdue, but i shall post them so the rabbit in netherlands stays updated on the family and cousin outings.

ever so mischievious cousin, who sang barney's "i love you" and took crazy animal shots with me.

my dad insisted that i take photos of his new pointy shoes

the goldfish house - where there's giant fishes, upside down fishes (it's not dead!) and even a blind fish! compare the normal sized goldfish with the giant fish tail in the middle photo!

after years of planning, the cousins outing finally materialized!
